The administrative officer should provide an applicant with forms required to obtain any municipal permit V. S. A. Title 24 Chapter 117 Section 4448. 

 

VILLAGE CENTER DESIGNATION:

March 22, 2021: The hamlets of East Corinth and Cookeville have been given Vermont Village Center Designation. This program supports local revitalization efforts across the state by providing funding to help villages build strong communities. Village Centers are eligible for many state grants and tax credits. BURN permit:

You must get a burn permit if you are planning to burn. Painted wood, pallets with chemical, oil or other contaminants, tires, and trash cannot be burned. State law prohibits burning leaves, grass/hay, and trees larger than 3″ in diameter. Leaves and grass/hay can be taken to the transfer station for composting. Contact Mike Wolff, Corinth Fire Warden, for a burn permit: 439-3666 or cell (605) 431-7085. Plan ahead and call a few days before your planned burn to get a permit. If Mike isn’t available, call Dean Gregoropolous at 439-5344. Note: During winter when there is snow on the ground a burn permit is not required.

 

DOG licenses:

All dogs in Corinth must be licensed by April 1st. The cost for Altered Male or Female dogs by April 1st is $9 ($11 if after April 1st). The cost for unaltered male or female dogs by April 1st is $13 ($17 if after April 1st). To license you dog, payment must be submitted to the Town Clerk (via the mail, town hall drop box, or during clerk office hours) along with copies of the dog’s Certification of Rabies Vaccination and Certification of Spaying if the dog has been altered. If you no longer have a dog, please let us know so we can remove them from our system.

NEW DEVELOPMENT/CONSTRUCTION permit:

If you are planning any construction on your property, please fill out this form and submit it to the Town’s Administrative Officer. Construction/development includes new structures, additions to existing structures, road improvements, and placement of fill.
