CORINTH UNCLAIMED ‘PROPERTIES’ – GET YOUR MONEY!

The Unclaimed Property Division of the Vermont State Treasurer Office reunites Vermont residents with lost and/or abandoned assets. The wi-fi network is available for public use during hours when the town office is closed (see hours here). The network is: Corinth_PUB (no password is needed)

FIRE WARDEN – BURN PERMITS

You must get a burn permit if you are planning to burn. Contact Joe Truss, Corinth Fire Warden, for a permit: 439-6178. Please try to plan ahead and call a few days before the burn to insure you can contact Joe for the permit before you have the fire. If Joe isn’t available call Fire Chief, Ed Pospisil at 439-6074. Note: During winter when there is snow on the ground a burn permit is not required.

AUGUST 14 — Blake Memorial Library: Resident author, Lucy Maddox, will lead an interactive presentation on her book, The Parker Sisters: A Border Kidnapping. In The Parker Sisters, Maddox gives an eloquent, urgent account of the tragic kidnapping of two free black sisters from Chester County, PA, who were sold as slaves across the border. 7PM.

AUGUST 26 — END-OF-SUMMER BOOK & PLANT SALE. Blake Memorial Library will once again have thousands of great books carefully sorted by genre and author, and a large variety of plants for your garden. The library will be seeking donations of books starting mid-July and plants in the days leading up to the sale. Thank you for your support!

SEPTEMBER 15 — Blake Memorial Library hosts Vermont Humanities Council Reading & Discussion Series with Suzanne Brown. The first of four discussions will be about Brown Girl Dreaming. 4:30PM.
